[en] For more than a decade, "smart development" is a leitmotiv in both the literature and political discourse. Besides the integration of ICT in everyday life, “smartness” seems to include many approaches, which are sometimes in contradiction. Based on a systematic literature and internet review; this introduction scrutinizes the use of the fuzzy concept in rural development studies and questions the fate of geography in regard of this “marketing” development
