[fr] Depuis quand et dans quel(s) contexte(s) le substantif στίμμι (ou στῖμι ou στῖβι) désignant une substance de couleur noire dont le nom est d'origine égyptienne, et le verbe στιμμίζειν (ou στιμίζειν ou στιβίζειν, ainsi que le composé ὑποστιμμίζειν) décrivant son application dans la région des yeux, sont-ils attestés dans les écrits médicaux grecs et quelle(s) substance(s) désignent-ils ? C'est à ces questions que l'on s'est efforcé de répondre en relevant en outre les justifications thérapeutiques de l'utilisation du stimmi par les médecins. Which substance(s) do these words refer to? These are the questions that this paper tries to answer, by examining the therapeutic justifications of the use of stimmi by doctors.
